Rinder's Six began their crucial mission to the Raimead mine with one objective: Clear the mine so that the extraction of valuable adamanite ore can continue. With a steady supply of this impenetrable metal, Rinder's soldiers would be nearly invincible in the coming war.
The trip to the mine was marred by a surprise encounter with a party of Hobgoblins. After defeating the small group, Guilliam's broken Hobgoblish allowed Rinder's Six to learn the truth about the Hobgoblins' true purpose. They were, as was revealed by the Stranger in Jilten, raiding the nearby villages.
Once the last of the Hobgoblins were disposed of, Rinder's Six entered the Raimead Mine, first discovering the journal of one of the members of the previous mining team. His entries revealed the presence of some large monster lurking deep within the mine. Further explorations into the mine revealed a fiery battle with some skeletons and zombies, as well as the remains of an unknown wizard, identified only by a ring he left behind, carrying the insignia of the Red Dragon School.
Soon after discovering the Red Dragon wizard's hidden treasure, however, the party was attacked by the feared monster--presumably the same fate with which the two previous teams of miners met. The battle was terrific, and the monster defeated, the mission's objective complete.
After resting at the foot of the mountain for a few days, the party accompanied the first wagon-load of ore to Parton, capital of the Raimead Dukedom. At Castle Parton, they learned of other saddening events in the realm during their time in the mine, and of their next, critical mission.
